Writing and Calculation
In a tent called the "Beautiful House," near a temple, priests laid the bodyon a long, narrow table. The priest first pushed an instrument up the nostril and into the brain and pulled it out in bits. Then he cleaned the mouth and filled it with sweet-oil-scented linen. The priest removed the internal organs. The body was wrapped with 150 yards of linen. Then about 100 amulets (protective charms) were placed inside the bandages.
