In Switzerland, people eat some of the things we do like bread, butter, honey, cheese, cereal and coffee. However, some things are not like what we eat. For example they eat cabbage and rice soup, zopf, or even zimtsterne.



Zopf is a type of bread, but this is a very special type of bread. It is always served on Sunday for breakfast.




Zimtsterne is a type of cookie. They are cinnamon cookies. They are always eaten at Christmas.



Zurcher Geschnetzeltes is made with cut up veal. If you make it the the traditional way, it comes with hashed potatoes, but it could also be served with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
