Old Kingdom
Old Kingdom people believed that only the king could survive death. The king was thought of as a god. Kings were either buried in tombs like mudbrick palaces or they were buried in a step pyramid. In the Old Kingdom there was a series of low flood seasons, which brought famine. For people in the Old Kingdom, the most important rules were respect for one's elder's and for tradition.
