New Kingdom
During the New Kingdom there were two very unusual pharaohs. They were Akhenaten and Queen Hatshepsut. Kings were buried in rock-cut tombs in the Valley of Kings. Pharoahs led their armies to the Near East. The New Kingdom came to an end just before 1000 b.c.
