Standard 1: Demonstates competence in the general skills and strategies in a variety of writing styles using the writing process.

6.1.2 I can write for a cariety of purposes and audiences (letters, poetry, descriptive and persuasive paragraphs).

6.1.3 I can construct a complete paragraph including: topic, detail and concluding sentences.

6.1.4 I can use basic revision techniques.

Standard 2: Uses grammatical and mechanical conventions in written compositions.

6.2.1 I can identify nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and conjunctions.

6.2.2 I can capitalize the beginning word of a sentence and proper nouns.

6.2.3 I can use these punctuation marks: periods, question marks, exclamation marks, quotation marks, commas and apostrophes.

6.2.4 I can use basic grammatical (spelling and mechanical) conventions in all forms of writing.

6.2.5 I can use a variety of sentence structures - simple, compound and complex.

6.5.1 I can use the various parts of a book to locate information (index, table of contents and glossary).

6.5.2 I can identify main idea and concepts with supporting details within informational text.

Standard 6: Demonstrates competence in speaking and listening as tools for learning.

6.6.1 I can use verbal skills to communicate (volume, expression, eye contact, etc.)

Math

Standard 1: Understands and applies a variety of problem solving strategies.

Standard 2: Understands and applies basic properties of the concept of numbers.

6.2.2. I can convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.

6.2.3 I can round to the nearest decimal (tenth, hundredth, thousandth).

6.3.2 I can multiply and divide fractions and decimals.

6.5.2 I can define the meaning terms: acute, right, obtuse, equilateral, parallel, perpendicular and intersecting.

Standard 6: Understands and applies concepts to probability, statistics and data analysis.

6.6.1 I can read and interpret bar graphs, linegraphs, tables, picto graphs, pie charts and stem-and-leaf plots.
