Using Numbers
There were only seven signs for numbers, so writing 999 took very long. There was no zero and no multiplication or division. In order to multiply, the Egyptians added the nuber to itself as many times as they needed. They did use fractions but, for example, 3/4 had to be shown as 1/4+1/4+1/4.
