Day 7 - Free Day in Paris - Kinda | |||||||||
A Power walk to the Louvre and found it closed - it's closed on Tuesdays - thought the tour leader would know this. This lead to s small demonstration of American problem solving. Then a power walk through the palace garden and onto the:
Opera: Home of Phantom of the Opera. Also the central meeting area for the group which is located in the middle of many historic landmarks, eateries, and department stores. Looks like a couple professional ladies here. A power walk through narrow, busy streets and up hundreds of stairs to Mnt Marmont and Sacre Coeur Cathedral. (I bet no one in the group knew there was a lift about a half a block north of the stairs!!!) Wow, everyone was glad to make it to the top - right Krista. The hill also offers a fantastic view of the city of Paris. This area is noted for the cathedral and the artisans that offer paintings and wares. Several of the students had their pictures drawn but the artist was limited by what he had to work with ; ) Thank goodness for the metro because it would have been a long way back to the hotel. (Justin seems to be in awe of the whole thing - or he is trying to catch flys) |
