Day 6 - Paris | ||||
Arrival at the Paris train station around 7:30 am. Everyone was well rested from the train ride (right!!)
A bus picked us up at the train station and took us on a scenic tour of the city before dropping us off at our hotel. Looks like a few didn't get completely rested on the train trip. The hotel was very nice, with the metro stop at the corner, and a couple of grocery stores nearby. Next a walking tour of the area with a lunch stop in a small shopping area. Quaint little shops and small streetside food vendors. We rejoined the group at a small park, everyone was feeling full or still working on it. A power-walk to Notre Dame: The group paused for a picture in front of the cathedral, then a brief walking tour inside and around the outside of the cathedral. The detailing on the outside of the cathedral is just a intricate as the inside. Although many of the students guessed "Faris", it was the Hunchback that was found molded onto the wall. We did not have time to climb to the upper chambers of the cathedral. Onto the Louvre. It was getting late but we visited the inner courtyard of the Louvre. Little did we know that our return trip would find the Louvre closed and then again on our next try the workers would be on strike. |
