Everyone was on time (not necessarily bright-eyed however). Parents waved good-bye as we boarded the plane. Just a 2 1/2 hour flight to beautiful Detroit and then a 6 hour layover. Fortunately the tour company provided us with a bus tour of the city.

Detroit Bus Tour: The highlight of the bus tour was a brief stop and the baseball stadium. At least the tour got us out of the airport for an hour and a half.

Finally, time to board the plane and head for Amsterdam. After a brief (2 hour) layover in Amsterdam, we boarded a plane again for the flight to Madrid. This part of the trip was a killer. Nothing against the airline, but everyone was just dead by this time.

Oh, remember, the day is actually just beginning!!!
