Design Qualities of Context

Content: (Instructional Objective)
The students will create a business that will engage them and keep their interest during their computer exploratory. With this business they will create a product database, charts, advertisements, and a multimedia presentation. To brainstorm what type of business they will create, they will write a paragraph describing their business.

Organization of Knowledge: (Strategies)
The teacher will show the students a finished product . Then explain the objectives of the unit. The students will look at a sample paragraph describing a business. Then the students will brainstorm their business idea and write a paragraph describing it. The teacher will give them feedback on their progress.

Clear and Compelling Product Standards
(Assessment)
Students will assess their own work. Teacher will ask questions to help students in process. Then teacher will give more help when needed.

Teacher will provide feedback to students to keep them on right track.

The choice of what type of business to create will be important to engage the students in learning about database reports, spreadsheet design, multimedia design, animation design, and the writing process.

The students get to choose what business to create. If they like animals they could be a pet store, sports could be a sporting goods store, etc.
