There are 4,109,086 people
living
in Ireland. It is one of the least populated countries in Europe. There
are around 5,000,000 people living there altogether. One-third of the
people live in Northern Ireland and the other two-thirds live in the
Republic of Ireland. A surprisingly large amount of people live in
Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. Nearly 1,000,000 people live
in Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland. Dublin has about a
quarter of the total population in the Republic. A group of around
3,000 families in Ireland are known as travelers. About 10,000 people
speak Irish as a first language. About 93% of the people there are
Catholics.
