The first weekend after Labor Day our cycle group heads for New Hampton to camp in the front yard of our good friends, the Schelbrooks, and to take in the Davis Rally.

At the rally, you can find us checking out the motorcycles in the parking lot. . Almost everyone has their machine polished to the max and ready for close inspection. this is a great chance to see the new machine, their colors, and what accessories are available. Man, Honda's yellow really stands out doesn't it. I basically like the deep red but Honda decided the new chromacolor red is better. Not by my task however. Some folks must not like the new red either, they add their own flair to the color scheme. .Some like the Honda "orange" and then add additional airbrushing. This really will catch your eye. But then so does the passenger. Some prefer to modify their bike and change them in to trikes. . Why not add a top also. But, I really like the trailers. Some are very basic travel trailers. But the really cool ones are hand built to like their larger counterparts. I wasn't able to get a picture of my favorite - a large oak whiskey cask and the spigot handle opens the lid.

Saturday night is the parade of lights. You can not believe the number of lights a guy can get on a motorcycle. So many, that some have to carry extra batteries in their sidebags. Of course, not everyone can afford all those extra lights so in true biker style - improvise. Oh, and some guys can't find anyone to ride with them so they improvise also.
