- Ludwig was the son of Michael
Fratzke who was born in Naklo, Germany on September
10th, 1810. Michael had three sons: August,
Gustav and
Ludwig.
- August and Gustav settled on a farm near Littleton,
Buchanan Co., Perry Township, Iowa in 1868.
- Michael and Ludwig bought land in 1874 in Fairbank
Township, a mile an one half nortwest of August's
place.
- Leo Fratzke has done extensive research trying to
establish a German connection, but had no success and
concluded that there are no blood relatives of Michael
Fratzke in Germany.
