DRESS UP
6th grade band is an extension of 5th grade, with added requirements and expectations.
6th grade Band meets on day 1,3, & 5 during 8th period.
Below are a list of expectations, grading procedures and requirements.
Lessons/In Class Evaluation (Graded)
Attendance at All Performance (Graded)
Quizzes (Graded or Credit)
First day of class-Statement of Personal Goals for the Year(Credit)
Student evaluations of performances throughout the year(Credit)
End of school year-Fundamentals Of Music test (Graded)
Requirements for your grade:
The total number of points will include all points from performances, daily rehearsal, individual lessons, and written and playing assignments/tests.
50 pts. each - Performance (Concerts)
Note: It is essential that each member participate at each performance in order for the ensemble to be at its best.
Attendance at All Performances is required.

you must be in school for half a day.***
5 pts. per Ensemble Rehearsal
Note: Graded on demonstration of musical knowledge, application of appropriate performance techniques, and contribution to improvement of the ensemble. Points will be deducted for the following offense {Tardiness, having gum, or food,; in appropriate language, excessive talking or disruptive behavior; not having instrument, music, reeds, or other class materials; not participating in class activities; etc} [unexcused absences from class, will result in a loss of points].
