Robert
Mugabe
Who is Robert Mugabe? Well,
Robert Mugabe is the current leader of Zimbabwe, and has been since
1980. Many people criticize Robert Mugabe for his political opposition
of opposing land reform, causing economic problems, and reducing human
rights in Zimbabwe. Yes, Zimbabwe is a great country, just not as a
result of this man.
Mr. Mugabe has caused the worst economic problems
Zimbabweans have seen since he took control of the country. The country
is in a huge high unemployed rate. Many church officials in Zimbabwe
believe that Robert Mugabe is basing his political views on racism and
sexist trials. But, the Zimbabwean people still follow Mr. Robert
Mugabe with all their hearts into a depression.
Although Mr. Mugabe's reign has been long and
terrible, it will end. He has been re-elected three times, and his
reign is to be challenged once more in 2008.
Robert Mugabee is
also a homophobe. Mr. Robert
Mugabe has filed a campaign against homosexuals. Mugabe stated in
several interviews and speeches that homosexuality is, "degrades
human dignity. It's unnatural and there is no question ever
of allowing these people to behave worse than dogs and pigs. If dogs
and pigs do not do it, why must human beings? We have our own culture,
and we must re-dedicate ourselves to our traditional values that make
us human beings... What we are being persuaded to accept is sub animal
behavior and we will never allow it here. If you see people parading
themselves as lesbians and gays, arrest them and hand them over to the
police!"
Mr. Mugabe has also stopped main farming in
Zimbabwe, so the many citizens are starving. Something needs to be done
to prevent these wonderful Zimbabwean people from suffering because of
one. Robert Mugabe also brought his country into the second congo war.
Positive? I think not.
