    Ireland is situated in the Atlantic Ocean and separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea. Half the size of Arkansas, it occupies the entire island except for the six countries that make up Northern Ireland. Ireland resembles a basin-shape centeral plain rimmed with mountains, except in the Dublin region. The mountains are low, with the highest peak, Carrantuohill in County Kerry, rising to 3,415 ft (1041 m). The principal river is the Shannon, which begins in the north-centural area, flows south and southwest for about 240 mi (386 km), and empties into the Atlantic,
    This country is republic. The national name is Eire. The current president today is Mary McAlees. The population of Ireland is 4,109,086 with a growth rate of 1.1%. The capital is Dublin. There money is Euro dollars. The languages are English, Irish (Gaelic) and both of these are official. Most of the religion is Roman Catholic.
      Ireland is the "Emerald Isle." Its grassy meadows and farmland might perhapes make it the greenest country on earth.  It rains a little almost every day. It's green nearly all year-round. The shamrock is a three-leaved plant that is the national emblem of Ireland. It can be seen on everything from banners to airplanes. Kissing the Blarney Stone is a popular tourist attraction.Ireland is a fisherman's paradise. Its beautiful lakes and rivers are full of many kinds of fish. Horse racing has been a popular sport in Ireland for many years. The popato is a favorite food in Ireland. The Irish harp is the national musical instrument of Ireland. Gaelic is the first official language of Ireland.
